I'm having similar issue, since upgrading my desktop to Win 10 from Win7-64 Home, USB 3.0 card reader that worked perfectly under Win 7 now misbehaves. When I insert an SDHC card, the light comes on reader and Win 10 sees the disk for a couple of seconds. Then light goes out and it disconnects for a few seconds, then reconnects. Over and over and over with the 'connected' and 'disconnected' sounds accompanying each occasion. I have tried numerous cards and the cards work fine in a laptop slot and camera. Anyone have a fix for this one?
Hiya.I had the same problem and I just sorted it out with a simple trick - after updating to win10 my computer recognized the card (or camera connected with usb) asked me to tap what to do with it and after I tapped to download or anything else nothing happened. The way I sorted it and now after tapping 'download' does the job is - clicked on PICTURES folder's properties - click 'security' - click 'Home User' and then click 'Edit' and just set that you have full control of that folder and all subfolders. Win10 was set as only 'administrator' had the full control.so I couldn't do anything. Hope this helps you as well - did the trick for me! Thanks Tanja I appear to not have quite the same problem. I use a program to download my pictures, not the MS app. To check I still had a problem, I simply copies 5 pictures from the SD card to a file on the hard drive.
